General Digital™ delivers the world’s first brightness-enhanced rack mount LCD monitor/keyboard/trackball device. This comes in the form of the Daylight Readable SlimLine 1U™. It features a 19" (diagonal) LCD display with a brightness of 400 nits, which is achieved with General Digital’s new GenFlective™ technology. The unit has chemically-strengthened (tempered), antireflective-coated protective glass for shatter resistance during field deployment. The SlimLine 1U™ 19" also includes strereo speakers, a headphone jack, and a full-size, 121-key, military and TEMPEST-grade, backlit keyboard. General Digital™ is currently delivering this product to U.S. Marine Corps programs.

April 2004

General Digital™ begins shipping GenFlective™-enhanced 15" Rack Mount Hinge™ LCD monitors. GenFlective™ enhancements greatly improve transmissive performance by using the Sun to enhance brightness. These enhancements increase the typical brightness on the Rack Mount Hinge™ of 200 nits to 1080 nits (actual brightness increases as ambient light increases). This permits the low-profile (1.75") monitor to be used in outdoor or high-ambient lighting conditions in which most monitors would not be viewable.

March 2004

VuePoint III Touch TerminalGeneral Digital™ announces the release of the VuePoint™ III, specifically designed for our legacy customers who wish to upgrade their VuePoint™ terminals. The updated software perfectly emulates previous incarnations of VuePoint™. Thus, VuePoint™ III is literally a drop-in replacement for VuePoint™ II.
