December 2001

MODEL NUMBER CHANGES: We are currently in the process of changing our model number layout. These changes will allow our customers to more specifically define the configuration of their LCD monitor, as well as allow us to reduce engineering time, resulting in quicker turnaround times from order placement to shipping. The first product lines to incorporate this change will be the Chassis Monitor™ LCD and the SlimLine 1U™ LCD monitor/keyboard. Look for more changes over the coming weeks.

JUST RELEASED: Introduction of the PS-1U-1250-PFC and PS-1U-1275-PFC 1U rack mount power supplies. The 50 watt and 75 watt supplies now feature power factor correction and improve your power efficiency. These devices are perfect accessories for our SlimLine 1U™, SlimLine Lite™ II and Rack Mount/Hinge™ rack mount LCD monitors.

August 2001

General Digital™ announces the availability of an 82-key, SUN-compatible, industrial- and military-grade keyboard with integrated 1-3/8" trackball (sealed), for integration into our SlimLine Lite™ II, SlimLine 1U™ and Rack Mount Keyboard products.

JUST RELEASED: SGD-15X-XL, SPA-15X-XL & SRM-15X-XL. 2000 nit, free-standing, panel mount & rack mount XGA LCD monitors. Prior to this product release, General Digital’s™ 15" Sunlight Readable were able to attain only 1200–1500 nits of brightness. Due to the original display manufacturer’s decision to discontinue specific 15" displays, General Digital™ will be able to manufacture our -EC and -ST 15" sunlight readable models on a limited basis (legacy customers only). General Digital™ recommends that all new programs specify our -XL models.

JUST RELEASED: General Digital™ introduces the Chassis Monitor™ LCD monitor kits, commencing with a 15" (diagonal) XGA device. The intent of the Chassis Monitor™ is to provide a low-cost, turnkey, FCC-certified LCD monitor that appeals to OEMs, VARS, and end-users alike, without sacrificing video performance. Current options include: NTSC/SECAM/PAL support, and enclosures/bezels that transform the Chassis Monitor Kit™ into a panel mount, rack mount or free-standing industrial or commercial monitor. General Digital™ has future plans to support 17" (diagonal) and 18" (diagonal) SXGA resolution configurations, as well as a touch screen.

JUST RELEASED: Three new keyboards: two commercial grade and one light industrial grade. The commercial-grade desktop K79-TB and the rack mount RK79-TB are compact keyboards, which feature full-size 1-3/8" trackballs. The light industrial-grade rack mount RK83-TBI is a compact keyboard featuring an industrial full-sized 1.5" 3-button trackball. The drawer for both rack mount keyboards features a spring-loaded, locking T-handle, which ensures positive fastening in the rack.

JUST RELEASED: New SGD-18W-ST introduced featuring 180° rotation of display and power factor corrected power supply. Initial configuration produced for Air Traffic Control application. Display inverted to maximize viewing cone and contrast ratio below eye level.

PRODUCT CHANGE: Introduction of newly redesigned SGD-10V-ST, SPA-10V-ST and SRM-10V-ST. New model features ultra-thin enclosure design and external power supply. Will accomodate protective overlay for the LCD or a touch screen.
