As you may recall, this past spring we partnered with the American Red Cross and donated enough blood to help save the lives of more than 80 hospital patients in need of platelets, plasma, and red blood cells.
Continuing our stream of social consciousness, General Digital teamed up with Hands on Hartford Food Pantry to help reduce hunger during the holidays. Through various food programs, Hands on Hartford provides meals and groceries to individuals and families in need, homeless individuals, emergency food assistance for families, and weekend meals for seniors.
Over the course of a month, the large box in our lobby was filled with nearly 300 pounds of non-perishable goods. If used for their backpack program alone, our contribution will have helped Hands on Hartford fill the backpacks of 93 children who are in need of a satisfying meal.
This was no random act of kindness, but rather a concerted effort on the part of our compassionate co-workers.
We thank everyone who gave a little of their time and a lot of their heart to this endeavor.
